i really wanted kalguksoo this one day so i went here for lunch! and it was so good for the cold. broth was so warm and i love noodles so this dish was such a big hit for me! banchans were also really good!
I was honestly surprised by the ratings for this place… I came on a Friday night and it wasn’t too busy. First time here and it was a really solid experience.
Seafood Pancake: Great pick. Crispy on the outside and packed with seafood inside.
Standard Korean fare that fills one’s tummy. I ordered vegetarian chap chae (stir fried glass noodles) while husband asked for beef bibimbap. Both just good enough, nothing more nothing less. My chap chae contained generous amount of onions and little other veggies.
Five senses has been around forever and is still a solid staple in k-town! Stopped by on a Friday evening around 8 and there was no line for two so we were seated quickly. They have a variety of the standard fare Korean options at reasonable prices.
I came here a few times back then with my partner and all the other times were great.
Unfortunately this things noticeably different. The kimchi portions were smaller even though you get unlimited supply. The beef to tofu ratio (in the stew) was very uneven as it was mostly tofu.
While my friend, boyfriend, and I initially planned to go to Okdongsik for a weekend lunch, I changed my mind at the last minute to head to Five Senses instead. (I saw that Okdongsik really specializes in gomtang and mandu, when really I was craving something a little bit more substantial.)
